Wholeness and Unity — Our New Seasonal Theme!

Dear Community,

I'm excited to share our over-aching theme at Dharma Ground for this winter and spring will be Wholeness and Unity. This teaching points us to reality beyond fragmentation, inviting us to embrace our unique experience of the fullness (Wholeness) of being human, while also cultivating direct knowing of oneness beyond surface appearances (Unity). At Dharma Ground, we hold the perspective that both Wholeness and Unity are integral to spiritual development. I’m inspired by the depth we are going as a community while practicing in our complex and challenging lay lives. We are breaking down barriers and assumptions and discovering how powerful this practice method and practicing at home, in community together, is proving to be. We’re ready for this topic!

This season’s exploration will unfold in several forms:

We begin this Saturday with our Experienced Students Retreat, then move into a Three-Week Flexible Practice Intensive with drop-in guided meditations and practice discussion groups — which you can still sign up for! Our Community Meditations on Tuesday and Friday mornings and Wednesday evenings will be offered live during the Flexible to share the goodness of the practice field we'll co-create together. Upcoming BIPOC Community Meditations will also be live. (Learn more and sign up for our Community Meditations here.)

Combining the weeklong retreat and the 3-week Flex, a dedicated cohort of 32 community members will be engaging with this theme as a Monthlong retreat. I'm moved by the commitment of these practitioners and excited to have the broader community join in this potent practice field through the Flex and/or Community Meditations.

This spring, we'll continue exploring this theme through additional classes:

We'll approach this profound topic with a healthy dose of modesty, an attitude of "As Best I Am Able," and an abundance of curiosity and wonder. I invite you to join us, in whatever way calls to you. We are supporting one another and giving the gift of our practice to this troubled and beautiful world.

With gratitude and delight in practicing together,
Dana
