Description
This three-part class series will explore the Fourth Foundation of mindfulness — the patterns of cause and effect that shape our lived experience — and how we can learn to recognize and practice with them directly. Drawing on the Satipaṭṭhāna's framework of hindrances that weaken, awakening factors that strengthen, and the Four Noble Truths that liberate, this class series will invite participants into a shift from ordinary, surface-level perception to a deeper mode of direct recognition, one that is closer to insight itself. Rather than personalizing the patterns that arise in our experience, we learn to perceive them impersonally, opening space for genuine freedom in how we relate to whatever is happening.
This class series will weave in contemporary findings from cognitive science, not as abstract theory, but as practical support for understanding why these methods work and how to apply them in daily life. Part of Dharma Ground's winter and spring theme of “Wholeness and Unity,” this series is designed for both established practitioners and newcomers curious about the intersection of contemplative wisdom and modern science.
Model of Mutual Support
This program is offered in the Buddhist tradition of dāna, which means freely giving. When you register, you will see donation options ranging from $25 - $250. However, you are welcome to offer any amount you wish below or above this range. Finances need not be a barrier to participation. Any offering is gratefully accepted, tax-deductible, and supports both the teachers and Dharma Ground.
