The Art of Practicing with Judging, Comparing, and Fixing Minds Half-Day Retreat with Ying Chen

December 1, 2024

Teacher

Ying Chen

Date

December 1, 2024 9am - 12pm PT

Description

Designed for both new and continuing students, this Half-Day Retreat will focus on one of the foundational practices of the Dharma Ground practice method: the Renunciation of Judging, Comparing, and Fixing minds. These three mind states are compulsive reactions to situations we face. They tend to contract us into a set of fixed ideas or identifications. As a result, we become unavailable to the wide range possibilities and choices that we may have that support our well being and freedom in our hearts and minds.

In this Half-Day Retreat, we will explore each of these mind states through short dharma reflections, meditative and reflective practices and group sharing. We will also have a chance to practice the renunciation vows. The half day includes orienting talks, guided meditations, short walking/moving meditation, and sharing and response in groups.

Model of Mutual Support

This program is offered by donation, with a suggested range of $15 - $120, which will be shared by the teacher for teaching the class and by Dharma Ground for hosting this class. You are invited to offer what is appropriate given your life circumstances (including an offering outside of the suggested range). All offerings are gratefully accepted. All registration offerings are tax-deductible.
