Prerequisite

Completion of one weeklong (5+ nights) online or in-person Nine Bodies Insight retreat or the Naturally Arising Ease, Awareness, and Insight retreat

Description

Flexible Practice Intensives are an innovative Dharma Ground offering. They include 1-2 guided meditations per day, drop-in practice support meetings, and evening silent Candlelight meditations.

These Flexible Practice Intensives can be held as a period of seclusion/dedicated silent practice or as a time of intentional practice that includes work and life responsibilities. You’ll be encouraged to hold these 10 days as valuable intensive practice time, even if you are practicing in multiple, interactive situations such as work and relational life.

The guided meditations will include the Arriving Sequence, Nine Bodies Insight Practice, and short teaching stories and poetry. The teachers will follow the inspiration that arises from practicing together in a free flowing way.

Schedule:

  • 7:30 am PT, guided meditation, everyday
  • 9:00 am PT, small group practice supporting meeting, October 11, 13, 15, 17
  • 11:00 am PT, guided meditation, everyday 10/9 - 10/16
  • 7:00 pm PT, silent candlelight meditations, everyday

The Dharma Ground Temple Hall (online) will also be open for silent, self-practice in community 24/7. The guided meditations will be recorded and shared.

This Flexible Practice Intensive is timed to begin immediately following “The Flowering of the Discerning Mind: An Experienced Students' Retreat," to flow with the momentum of the retreat, and is in the heart of our fall exploration of the discerning mind. However, enrollment is open regardless of whether or not you are able to attend the retreat. All members of our community (who meet the prerequisite) who feel drawn to this flexible intensive form are warmly welcome to join us.

Model of Mutual Support

This program is offered in the Buddhist tradition of dāna, which means freely giving. When you register, you will see donation options ranging from $75 - $750. However, you are welcome to offer any amount you wish below or above this range. Finances need not be a barrier to participation. Any offering is gratefully accepted, tax-deductible, and supports both the teachers and Dharma Ground.
