Ying Chen

Teacher

Ying Chen is a first generation Chinese immigrant. She took refuge to become a buddhist with Venerable Ji Ru in 1995. She was exposed to Chinese Mahayana Buddhism first and later drawn to the Theravāda tradition. Since 2005 she has been practicing primarily in Insight Meditation Center (IMC), under the guidance of Gil Fronsdal. Since 2020, Ying has practiced the Naturally Arising Practice Method with Phillip Moffitt and Dana DePalma. Ying is a graduate of the Chaplaincy program from the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies and the Local Dharma Leader program from IMC. She also completed a four-year Dharma Teacher training from Insight Retreat Center. Ying facilitates the IMC support group for people living with health challenges and leads Asian Dharma Circle. She has been teaching in Dharma Ground since 2023. Her teachings are available from IMC, Sati Center, IRC, Dharma Ground, and Spirit Rock. Ying holds a Ph.D. in computer sciences. As a lay practitioner, she is inspired by the possibility of freedom and well-being in the midst of everyday life.


陈颖是一位第一代华人移民,于1995年在繼如法师座下皈依成为佛教徒。她最初接触的是中国大乘佛教,后来逐渐被上座部佛教所吸引。自2005年以来,她主要在Insight Meditation Center随Gil Fronsdal老师修行。自2020年起,她在Phillip Moffitt与Dana DePalma的指导下,修习自然生起智慧的修行法(Naturally Arising Practice Method)。陈颖毕业于Sati Center for Buddhist Studies的禅修关怀(Chaplaincy)项目,以及IMC的培养領導老師(Local Dharma Leader)。她还完成了Insight Retreat Center为期四年的禪修老师培训课程。她目前带领IMC的疾病与健康挑战支持小组,并主持亚裔佛法共修圈(Asian Dharma Circle)。自2023年以来,她在Dharma Ground教授佛法。她的教学也可在IMC、Sati Center、IRC、Dharma Ground以及Spirit Rock Meditation Center找到。陈颖拥有计算机科学博士学位。作为一位在家修行者,她在日常生活中不断体会与实践通往自由与安乐的可能性。
