Dear Community,
I’m having a “real time”recognition as part of our focus on our fall theme of the Discerning Mind.
We asked Phillip to share the depth of his practice, and he has! If we had not asked, we would not have a practice method — but we did ask, and he did share, and now we have a practice method. I want to celebrate this together, and bow to this together. A new way of practicing Dharma deeply as a spiritual training amidst lay life has arrived!
As you know, these teachings are practical, mysterious, and fresh. We teachers are sharing our hearts and our practice. We are teaching in ways that are sometimes unconventional, and there is both strength and vulnerability in what we are doing. We are also hearing from you about how this practice method is nourishing your heart and practice in both aliveness and potential. I’m all in, as I’ve said from the very beginning; if there is a community that will claim this and care for this, I’ll be doing this for the rest of my life.
As we mature as a community, the teachings at Dharma Ground are getting deeper. We’re in a wholesome exchange of trusting each other, inspiring each other, and calling one another forth into possibility. We’ve crossed into a new depth this autumn, as many of you have noted. Because of arriving at this new place, together, we now have new possibility. It feels too early to put it into words, but the felt sense is palpable. I’m deeply grateful. Thank you for your practice and presence.
You are welcome to watch this 8-minute video, my heartfelt message reflecting on this recognition at the close of the recent retreat.
Additionally, I want to share that if Dharma Ground feels like one of your spiritual homes, and if you feel moved to support Dharma Ground financially at this new stage of its development, we are available — and we are grateful for your support at any and all levels. Your generosity directly supports Dharma Ground in continuing to steward and share these liberative teachings in the midst of daily life with all who are interested. Everything at Dharma Ground is offered in the Buddhist tradition of dāna, which means freely giving. This is part of the core vision for Dharma Ground that will never change. Through mutual giving and receiving, the Dharma has been kept alive across centuries. You can learn more about ways to support Dharma Ground here.
I truly believe what we are doing here, together, has implications beyond any of our lives. Thank you to this community that has claimed this practice and cared for its growth — we are here because of your presence, practice, and support.
With deep bows and heartfelt appreciation,
Dana
